Our clients just love eyelash extensions, they are incredible, totally transforming, they allow you to wake up looking as though you have already applied some killer mascara AND have the longest, most beautiful natural lashes ever, however, like most things in life anything that is worthwhile takes that little smidgen of effort. If you can do that then typically they’ll last 2-4 weeks, to help you get there we’ve put together some tips and tricks managing lash extensions
THE DON’TS:
DON’T get your extensions wet for 12 hours after application
Avoid working out, saunas, showering and swimming.
DON’T get oily products on your lashes
Shampoo, conditioner, creams or oil based make-up remover will eventually loosen the glue bond. Tilt your head back when washing your hair and try to avoid getting them wet.
DON’T use waterproof mascara on your lashes
If you want to wear mascara on your lashes, you should use a water-soluble one. We have a fantastic Phoenix mascara which is perfect for this.
DON’T come to your extension appointment with mascara on
If you wear mascara to your appointment and the lash tech has to remove this, your extensions may fall out slightly earlier than expected as the remover can sometimes leave a residue on the lashes, which makes it harder for the extensions to adhere properly.
THE DO’S:
DO get a lash tint prior to having your extensions applied
We really recommend our clients do this as it makes your extensions more dramatic and also helps to ease you back into your natural lash once the extensions begin to fall out.
DO resist the urge to pull your extensions
If you pick, pull, twist or excessively touch or brush your extensions, it could damage your natural lashes. If you pull out your extensions.. you pull out your natural lashes (eeeek!) If you wish to have them removed, we strongly recommend coming into store and Beyoutifi can safely and easily remove them for you with a specific glue remover.
DO try sleep on your back
This might sound a bit OTT… but trust us, smushing your face into your pillow isn’t ideal when you want to keep your lashes looking fresh!
DO occasionally brush your lashes
Brushing your lashes with a lash comb will help to keep them clump-free. We have a great one which you can purchase online or in store.
